Meet the Teachers

Ms. Traci

Traci has been owner and director of Artistry in Motion for the past 21 years (formerly Traci Stone's Dance Connection). Her students have won numerous titles and high score and overall awards including choreography awards. In 2008 she started a children's theatre company (Velvet Curtain Musical Theatre) of which everyone who auditioned was cast in each production. Such productions that have been brought to the stage have been: Annie, The Wiz of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, 42nd Street, The Twelve Dancing Princesses, Cinderella, Christmas Unwrapped and A Christmas Spectacular. Currently, her student, Brooklyn Shuck, is starring on Broadway in the revival of "Annie" as "Kate."

She has been production choreographer for Miss Lexington, Miss Richmond Area, and most recently Ky's Distinguished Young Woman (formerly Ky's Jr Miss). She has been a guest teacher/judge for Dance Masters of Oklahoma, and has taught all over Ky and Ohio.

Traci was a University of Kentucky DanceCat, Miss Lexington and top ten and talent winner at Miss Kentucky. She held the title of Miss Dance of the Bluegrass and twice held the title of Miss Dance of Ohio. She was talent winner and 1st Runner Up Miss Dance of America.

Professionally, she was a featured dancer and singer for Carnival Cruise Lines, and has danced for Kraftmaid which featured such names as Dick Clark and Sheena Easton.

Ms. Andrea

Andrea started taking ballet classes when she was six years old and added tap and jazz classes in the following years. She danced with her high school’s varsity team, winning the State Championship in competitive pom in 1998 and 2001.

When she moved to Kentucky to attend college, she taught private dance classes and also instructed a ballet course for a homeschool group. Andrea joined Artistry in Motion’s teaching staff in the Fall of 2011. She has the pleasure of teaching many of our youngest dancers, laying the foundations for technique and a love of dance. Andrea’s goal is that each of her dancers will gain bold self-confidence that will shine both on and off the dance floor.

Casey studied dance at the School of Nashville Ballet & Vanderbilt Univerity. He has been employed by the Dance Theatre of Tennessee and is currently a company artist for the Lexington Ballet. He has also performed as a guest, including for the Georgia Dance Theatre and the Ohio Dance Theatre. Besides performing, Casey has taught dance for several high schools and studios.

Ms. Dana

Dana Peddicord has had a love and passion for dance for over 26 years. She danced competitively as a young dancer as well as through the Miss Kentucky Organization as an adult. Dana places a lot of value in the technique behind every dancer. Dana has been an educator of dance for 15 years and is looking forward to nourishing your child’s education for the art through fun, technique, and passion!
